The Department of Physical Education was started in the year 2008.The department offers full time & part time Ph.D & M.Phil Programme in Physical Education and Yoga. The department organizes, South India level Volleyball and Kabaddi Tournament for University and College students. This department also organizes Rural Sports in Cricket, Kabaddi, Volleyball for the Rural Youth in and around Karpagam University.

Department of Biochemistry was established as a UG Department in 1995.
