The Department of Physics & Electronics was established in the academic year 2002-03 with UG and PG courses, which has now developed with modern facilities and state of art equipments to cater the needs of curriculum as well as advanced research providing an enthusiastic atmosphere for the students to work around.

=> As scientists in State level and National research laboratories like TIFR, DAE Institutions, CSIR laboratories, DRDO laboratories
=> Telecom sector, Embedded Sector, Power Electronics Sector, Electronic Manufacturing sector, Entertainment industry etc.
=> Placement as scientific assistants, and scientific officers in laboratories.
=> As teachers in colleges and Universities.
In addition to this, the department has laboratory facilities to carry out research in Molecular Spectroscopy, Solar Energy, Thin Film Physics, Thin Film Solar Cell, Solid State Ionics, Crystal Growth etc. The facilities include FTIR spectrophotometer, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption spectrophotometer, Vacuum coating Unit, Solar energy measuring instruments, and other basic facilities.
It is proposed to conduct national seminar on ‘Advanced Materials and Applications’ in August 2014, and a national workshop on Solar energy and its utilizations in September 2014.
