The Government of India established the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in 1975 with the objective of improving the quality of the Medical Education by establishing high and uniform standards of postgraduate examinations in modern medicine on All India Basis and utilizing existing healthcare infrastructure for capacity building.
National Board of Examinations conducts entry and exit examinations at Postgraduate and Post Doctoral level and licensing examinations as Screening Test for Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Qualifications In compliance to the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the National Board of Examination has been entrusted the responsibility by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to conduct a competitive entrance examination on all-India basis for admission to All India 50% quota MD/MS/Diploma Seats Admission Session except for colleges located in Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh. The entrance examination will be governed by the rules and regulations specified by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/Directorate General health Services/MCI/Government Medical Colleges of the country.
The Post Graduate Entrance Test– 2014 (PGET Jharkhand) is the test prescribed for the purpose of determining the eligibility for admission of students to PG Degree and Diploma courses in Medical subjects for the Jharkhand State Quota seats in Government Medical Colleges/Institutions within the State of Jharkhand, for the academic year 2014-15.

To get eligible in Jharkhand PGET entrance examination and study in National Board of Examinations (NBE) candidate are required to meet the following eligibility criteria:

Candidates who are interested to give Jharkhand PGET needs to fill the application form and pay the registration fees. Candidate need to follow the mentioned below steps:
The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.
The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.
The cut off score depends on difficulty level of exam, availability of seats, number of applicants, etc. Based on the cut-off score examination authority prepares the merit list and candidates are called for counselling.
Every year the entrance examination is conducted where the results are declared by March 2017 (Expected).
Shortlisted candidates are supposed to login in to the official site and check their counselling dates. Selected candidates have to carry their original mark-sheets and certificates at the time of counselling and if they fail to carry their original certificates and mark-sheets their admission will be cancelled. Downloaded mark-sheets and certificates are not allowed. The counselling process would start tentatively by April 2017 (Expected).
