Inspired by the ideals of great social reformer of nineteenth centuary, Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the college was estalished in July 1961 in Dehradun by Dayanand Shiksha Sansthan, Kanpur then named as D.A.V College Trust and Management Society.
