The Department of Computer Science started functioning in Aug 2011 with Dr. E Balagurusamy, former Vice Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai, formally inaugurating its activities. The Department offers MSc Computer Science with specialization in Intelligent Systems.The courses are designed with the objective of equipping the students for the IT industry and for streamlining them for taking up research in Intelligent Systems. State of the art computing facilities are available in the Department.

Department of Plant Science
The Department of Plant Science was established in 2011 in the transit Science campus at Padennakkad. Prof.( Dr.) G.M. Nair, the former Director of the prestigious Tropical Botanical Garden Research Institute (TBGRI), Thiruvananthapuram, INDIA and former Professor & Head, Departments of Botany and Biotechnology, University of Kerala, headed the Department since its inception till November, 2013. With his efforts, the Department of Plant Science features latest laboratory facilities to do productive research and laboratory experiments for the PG Students.

Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (DBMB) was established in 2010 the Riverside Transit Campus, Padannakkad to promote education and research in the area of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. It is developing into a state of the art facility for Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. It has introduced an interdisciplinary programme through a flexible curriculum, and admits 16 students for MSc (Biochemistry & Molecular Biology), and 6 students for MPhil/PhD in (Biochemistry).

Department of Genomic Science (DGS) was established in 2010 at Riverside Transit Campus, Padennakkad to promote education and research in the area of Genomic science. It aims to develop an interdisciplinary programme through a flexible curriculum, and provide state of the art facility for Genomic research.The Department of Genomic Science has faculty members from diversified research fields like Population genetics, Genomics and proteomics, Pharmacogenomics, Microbial Genomics, Molecular genetics &epigenetics, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics.

Department of Physics
Department of Physics began functioning in 2010 at Riverside Transit Campus, Padannakkad. The thrust areas of the department are Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, Photonics, Nuclear Physics, Magnetic Materials, Nanoparticles., and its curriculum is designed to shape a scientist in each student. It runs MSc and PhD programmes. At present the department has four regular faculty members.
