Swami Nithyananda Polytechnic College, Kanhangad is a grant-in-aid institution started functioning in the year 1966, under the auspices of the Shree Nithyananda Vidyakendra, a registered society. The institution offers 3 year diploma programmes in Civil Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics and Communication. The institution is located at Nithyananda Nagar (Kushal Nagar), Kanhangad, Kerala, about 2km southwest of Kanhangad Railway station. The polytechnic is under the administrative control of the Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala and a Governing Body, which comprises representatives of the sponsoring society, State and Central Governments, State Board of Technical Education and All India Council for Technical Education. The founder Chairman of the Governing Body is (Late) Khoday Lakshmansa, Bangalore. Sri K.L. Ramachandra is the Present Chairman. Government of India Identified this institution, to be developed as a Community Polytechnic in the year 1979.Since then, the institution is in the forefront for the development of the rural folks. Our institution is one of the premier institutions in the family of polytechnic colleges and her name reputed through the country. Our Mission: To impart high quality equitable and updated technical education to young generation, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, to befit them to the rapidly changing trends of technology and to provide continuing and non-formal education and training programmes to the rural society that responds to socio-cultural changes, with the helping hands of group of competent, dedicated and motivated staff in an appropriate learning environment.
