Department of International Relations

The Department of International Relations, a vibrant and growing entity of the School of Global Studies (SGS), Central University of Kerala, offers matchless opportunities for higher learning in international law, diplomacy, defence studies, national/international security, diaspora studies, public policy, constitutionalism, global governance, decentralised planning, environmental sustainability, gender and human rights.

The Department has an interdisciplinary approach to the study of international relations, and its curriculam include a wide spectrum of courses such as Theories of International Relations, Research Methodology, Security and Strategic Studies, Foreign Policy Analysis, Diplomacy, International S ecurity, International Development, International Organi sati ons, Internatio nal Law, Comparative Politics and International Pol itical Economy. In addition to classroom instruction and other course related activities, the special seminar series provides a regular forum for training in public speaking, informed debates and critical analysis.
