    Chatrapathi Sivaji Tri Shatajayanthi Govt. Kalasala Jangareddigudem. Arts, Science and Commerce college was established in the year 1974 by the Sarvodhaya leader Sri. Ch. V.P. Murthy Raju ex-Minister of Andrapradesh Government. Subsequently the college was taken over by the Govt. of Andra Pradesh in the year 1997. This college is affiliated to Andra University. Vishakapatnam. The goal and objective of this Educational Society is to promote value based higher Education to this tribal backward area by establishing and conducting an Institution for the development of the youth of nearly forty villages in and around Jangareddygudem. In tune with the objectives of the society the college has set its goals to provide value based, disciplined socially committed and scientifically sound education to students so as to mould them into responsible citizens of India. The college is located in a rural area of Jangareddigudem West Godhavari district and it well defines the poem 'lead kindly light'. Its mission is to provide higher education to the poor and backward sections of the society, striving to uplift them culturally, socially and economically thus moulding their personality including leadership qualities, confidence building and self reliance.

    The college has been imparting higher education in Arts, Commerce and Science for the last 32 years to the socially and economically backward communities around Jangareddigudem of West Godavari Dist. The college is yet to be recognized by the UGC under 2(f) and 12 (B). College is fully funded by Andrapradesh Govt. and the campus area is about 8.30 acres.Number of programme options are four and the number of subjects taught in the Institution is about 10. while the self financed B.Sc programme is in English medium the rest are in Telugu medium . The total number of students are 579, out of which about 350 students are getting scholarships. The college systematically planned for assessment and accreditation by by NAAC, being encouraged by the workshop conducted by the Central University, Hyderabad. The NAAC constituted a peer Team consisting of Dr. Nagappa professor Emeritus Mysore University, Karnataka as chairperson and Prof. Indhrani Sridharan, Former Principal Ethiraj college for Women Chennai as member coordinator to visit the college. The peer team visited the college during 28th, 29th and 30th of March 2007 to make an assessment of the College. Dr. Sujatha P. Shanbhag Assistant Advisor NAAC co-ordinated the peer team visit.

    During the onsite visit, the peer team organized meetings and held discussions with various constituents of the Institution as per the scheduled programme. The peer team met the Principal, steering committee members and also the Founder of the college. During the course of the visit the peer team visited different departments, Laboratries and office, besides interacting with the students, parents and alumni, and also verified various documents relating to the college and its activities. After visiting the Institution and observing the system, policies, procedures and infrastructural facilities, the team makes the following criterion wise analysis and over all observations and suggestions.

    The vision of the college is to transform itself into a symbol of unifying force of all diverse global knowledge from a world stand point, while the mission is quality enhancement. Naturally since its inception the college is rendering yeomen service to the predominantly tribal area by offering quality education at minimum cost. The Institution takes pride in creating awareness and empowering the disadvantaged segments of society. The Institution has a vision to inculcate leadership qualities and initiatives in its students making them self-sufficient.. This is reflected in its goals namely, imparting quality higher education at minimum cost, reducing the gap between urban and rural particularly tribal students in education, inculcating awareness, evolving a broad based system of education, developing holistic view of life in students and motivating them to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

    The Institution has as its objectives providing opportunities for all round development, establishing industry-lab-academic linkages, instill confidence through projects, character building through inculcation of core values of life and gearing up to foster international outlook. All these initiatives are made known to the students through curriculum, interaction and outreach programmes. The academic programmes provide knowledge, while the certificate courses provide skills and the extension activities bring the students closer to the community. Students are assessed through slip tests, half-yearly examinations and pre-final examinations and are provided extra coaching through remedial classes, assignments, seminars, group discussions etc.. To supplement the University designed syllabi ICT learning, E-learning, guest lectures, field trips etc are organized , exposing the students to global trends. The extension activities like NSS, Lead India, Eco- club, Red-Ribbon club etc inculcate a strong national sense. Though the curriculum is designed by the University, the faculty takes initiative through their membership in the Boards of Study and Boards of examination in bringing about changes in the syllabi, making it relevant to contemporary needs. Development of student skills are achieved through certificate courses, field trips, projects etc. While Computer training is given to all students, value education is imparted through subjects like Indian Heritage and Culture. Use of Audio Visual Aids, OHP, Internet etc not only bring ICT into curriculum, but also strengthen learning process.
