Eligibility and Admission Process:

For M.A. - Sociology: Any undergraduate in Social Sciences on the basis of Merit.
Total Intake: 50 seats
For MSW Programme: Any graduate with minimum of 50% marks (45% if ST/SC) is eligible to apply for the MSW Programme. The entrance test will be followed by group discussion and personal interview. Candidates awaiting results also can apply; however the final admission will be given only after clearing the examination.
Selection Procedure: The selection is based on the Entrance Test for the course containing 100 objectives questions. The test would encompass general knowledge and current affairs besides reasoning and familiarity with the English language. The aim is to screen and get the best of available students to maintain academic standards. In addition the test also intends to scrutinize the aptitude and social sensitivity of the candidate. The duration of the test will be One hour. The candidates securing 50% marks and above will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview carrying 25 marks each. The Selection of the candidates will be based on the performance in Entrance Test + Group Discussion + Personal Interview respectively and the merit list will be displayed on the Notice Board.
Reservation of seats will be as per the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University rules.

For M.Phil Programme: Admission is on the basis of Entrance Test and Personal Interview in Social Sciences.
For Ph.D.: Admission is on the basis of Research Proposal Presentation before the Departmental Research Studies Committee (DRSC) in Social Sciences.
