Department of Petroleum Engineering

This four years engineering program leading to B.Tech. Degree will enable the students to understand and apply global practices in the field of oil exploration, oil transportation and petroleum utilization techniques.

In the first year the students will complete the fundamental concepts common to all areas of Engineering. Petroleum Engineering designs and develops methods for getting oil and gas from underground deposits.

Labs

In Petroleum engineering, a number of labs have been set up by the university with latest equipments to facilitate the learning process.

A few of the prominent ones are:
=> Fluid Mechanics Lab
=> Thermodynamics Lab
=> Water Resources Lab
=> Geology Lab

The future plans of the department include expansion of labs for advanced study such as geophysics for exploration of gas reservoirs, drilling technologies, rock mechanics, refining and processing technology etc.
