The Department is offering M.Sc., in Organic Chemistry. The course is well balanced with strong theoretical aspects like Quantum Chemistry and computer aided analysis in addition to practical aspects of isolation, synthesis and identification of biologically active molecules and industrially important chemicals and drug moieties.
The training will provide strong experimental and theoretical basis to tailor the necessary molecules suitable for pharmaceutical industry. The students can easily tunnel into areas like biochemistry, biotechnology, virology and microbiology.
Students can pursue research in Universities, CSIR Laboratories, and pharmaceutical research laboratories. They will have good employment opportunities in chemical manufacturing units.
