The world is in the midst of an information explosion. The Department tries to sensitize the students to the new technologies of communication, which will enable them to gain employment in this age of information. They are trained for careers in Journalism, Media Management, Public Relations, Advertising and Television Production. The department offers excellent training in Photography, Computers, Multimedia, Video production and Editing. Television production is taught in sophisticated labs and in association with the media industry for students to gain hands on experience in the new media.
The course offers potential to find employment in a range of careers in reputed media organizations like newspapers, magazines, television channels, radio stations, advertising agencies, government information and public relations, corporate communication sectors, tourism agencies, development organizations, NGO’s and MNCs specializing in communication programmes as reporters, presenters, script writers, programme directors and media entrepreneurs.
