Master of Science (MS Production Engineering), is a two-year postgraduate degree level course of study in India. Production Engineering is a branch of Engineering dealing with the optimization of the complex process of the production system.
The master course is designed to emphasize on all the aspects related to Production Technology, Production System, Production Process, Manufacturing Technology, etc. The aim, of course, is to prepare candidates to have adequate knowledge and skills related to manufacturing technology production management, welding and joining technologies, industrial engineering and ergonomics and work organization also with a fundamental understanding of basic science and interdisciplinary knowledge, innovation, creation and problem-solving abilities essential for the profession.

Advanced Mathematics, Product Development, Design and Manufacturing Aspects, Machines and Computer Aided Inspection, Machining Science, Metal Forming, Casting Technology, Advanced Machine Tool Design, Quality and Reliability Engineering, Flexible Manufacturing System, Total Productive Maintenance, Machining Science.
The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree such as Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s degree study program.
This course requires study requires 2 years of the time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning, study option to earn this degree.
After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do Ph.D. (Doctorate in Production Engineering), and specialization or research oriented work in their respective field.
