Northern India Engineering College is affiliated to U.P. Technical University, Lucknow and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra. An academic year comprises of two semesters each of 4-1/2 months duration. There are 100 working days in a semester including the period of examination. The first semester is called Autumn Semester and second one is known as Spring semester. The time from August to December is for Odd Semester and the time from January to May is for Even Semester. For University examination, a student should have at least 75% attendance in theory, tutorial and practical classes. The student performance is evaluated by internal sessionals and external theory examinations. Internal examination is based upon class room performance, sessional test, assignments & quizzes. For external evaluation, there is a procedure which is conducted by U.P. Technical University, Lucknow. To pass a theory paper, student should secure at least 30% marks. To appear in the theory examination, a student must secure at least 50% marks in sessionals of every course. A student who fails to clear a course/courses of a semester shall be allowed to proceed to the next semester but shall have to clear the course by reappearing in that course/courses at a subsequent examination of the university schedule. Only two repeats in a course are permissible and any body failing to clear a course/courses in this clause shall have to repeat the semester.

Executives from the corporate world are regularly visiting and interacting with the students to develop awareness about the current scenario of job opportunities.
