The Department of Econometrics was established in July 1980 by bifurcating the parent Department of Economics into the Departments of Economics and Econometrics. Since its inception, the department has focused on teaching and research in quantitative economics emphasizing theoretical, methodological and conceptual issues in economics along with applications to socially relevant economic issues and policies.

Computer and Econometric Lab :
22 PCs, 2 Laptops, Scanner, Laser and Dot-matrix printers, Electronic White Board, 2 LCD projectors, etc. Net work connection and internet facilities are available for the students, scholars and faculty members.
The lab is equipped with licensed software such as Windows, Linux, MS Office and Econometric/Statistical software packages such as SPSS, STATA, LIMDEP, SHAZAM & E-views.
Over Head Projector, LCD Projectors, Photocopier, Audio system and digital camera are available.
Contains a good collection of more than 3000 text and reference books for MA students and a large collection of books, reports and journals for research work
