The Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBBT) was inaugurated on July 24, 1997. This department has been recognized by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, and granted accreditations for the Post Graduate programme. The department offers two-year M. Sc degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, 5 year Integrated M.Sc in Bioscience and Bioinformatics and PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. The objective of the department is to contribute to the advancement of the emerging areas of basic and applied Life Sciences and to create trained manpower in the field of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
