These were strengthened with courses from other disciplines. The department was further strengthened to include M.Sc. programme in Food Science and Nutrition in June 1985 with an objective to equip students with the knowledge and skill for understanding the role of nutrition in health and diseases. The department initiated another specialization – Food Technology at M.Sc. level in June 2007.
