In today’s globalised arena, India is one among the fast growing economies of the world. This emerging new economy is making new demands on its creators, managers, and explorers. This, in turn, is posing new challenges and opening new opportunities for us. A fast growing economy like ours needs services of the large number of well-trained economists. On the one hand, the centre and state governments needs well-trained economists at various levels. On the other hand, private sector, whose is expanding at phenomenal rate in India and has entered into new areas such as financial services, banking, insurances, and heavy industries, also require economists in various capacities.

Therefore, with the primary aim to create a centre for quality teaching and research programs in Economics, School of Economics is established at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University. The school aspires to become nationally and globally recognized centre of excellence in Economics.

Well-equipped Smart Classrooms

The university has several ICT equipped classrooms. These are fitted with smart boards, digital visualizer, overhead projector, television and computer. These are used for classroom teaching as well as seminar purposes. They sometimes add value to cultural activities.Smart classrooms are used to enhance the quality of teaching and improve the experience of learning.

Computer Lab and Statistical Software

=> Computer Lab (20 Computers) with the Internet Facility inside the Library for Practical Training.
=> Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) installed on all computers for learning and use.
