Orthodontics is a dynamic field with changes occurring at a rapid pace. Orthodontics is much more than Cosmetic field of Dentistry. Orthodontics is a specialization that applies he Principle of Biology as well as Engeneering. Crowded, Irregular, Protruding teeth have been a problem for some individuals, since antiguity and attempts to correct this disorder go back at least to 1000B.C.

The department undertakes treatment to correct malalinged & irregular teeth and improves esthetics of patient. Besides doing clinical work of patients, department also does the teaching of under graduate and post graduate students. The department has state of the art equipment to diagnose, plan treatment and treat the cases of varying malocclusions.

The department has computerized cephalometric software(Nemoceph) for a thorough and detailed diagnosis of an orthodontic patient.The digital SLR camera allows for accurate image storage in the two flat screen Dell computers. The department is directly linked with central servers for digital image transfer of OPG and Cephalogram from the department of oral medicine and radiology. The OMR department has one of the finest digital cephalometric imaging unit (PLANMECA). The department is spacious enough to have a separate UG and PG section along with faculty rooms and HOD rooms.
