In 2004, infectious disease are still the second leading cause of death worldwide, the number of emerging and re-emerging bacterial, fungal and viral pathogen continues to increase and the threat of bioterrarism looms large world wide. Additional multidrug resistance in also on the increases in pathogens. Thus the department of Pathology and Microbiology work in direction to full fill the need of new antimicrobial agents and with the lack of new anti-infectives in the pipelines. The department will have great interest in innovation strategies.
The department occupies 2000 sqm in the college of Biotechnology and having two labs for the student of UG and PG course; besides these the department have on infrastructure for two-research lab to carry out the research in the related field of department.
Department also have one lecture theater of capacity 50 students and proper separate rooms for the faculty. The team of faculty includes one professor, two Associate Professor and three Assistant Professor.
