Department of Immunology
Immunology is the study of our protection from foreign macromolecules or invading organisms and our responses to them. These invaders include viruses, bacteria, protozoa or even larger parasites. In addition immune responses is also developed against our own proteins (and other molecules) in autoimmunity and against own aberrant cells in tumor immunity. The immune system is acted upon the invaders by the means of Antibodies. This department provide the research facilities for understanding the antibodies and their functions.
The department occupies 2000 sqm in the college of Biotechnology and having two labs for the student of UG and PG course; besides these the department have on infrastructure for two-research lab to carry out the research in the related field of department. Department also have one lecture theater of capacity 50 students and proper separate rooms for the faculty. The team of faculty includes one professor, two Associate Professor and three Assistant Professor.
