The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering commonly abbreviated as MBGE is one of the 8 Departments of College of Biotechnology, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Modipuram, Meerut. Our Mandate includes in addition to research, conducting specialized professional courses at graduate and masters level, aimed at generating expertise in the field of Biotechnology. The mission is to equip the students with extraordinary skills for life making them not just job seekers but also job creators. The department offers an outstanding learning environment by facilitating the best learning experience possible. The prime objective of the various courses offered at the department is to prepare graduates for challenging careers in the field of Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering and enable upward mobility for higher study and research in the Life Sciences Industry.

=> Genetic engineering of crops for biotic and abiotic stress tolerance.

=> Development of Transgenics for abiotic and biotic stress tolerance and improved nutritional quality in specified crops.

=> Identification of molecular pathways for plant microbe Interaction and develop genetically engineered strategies for disease and insect control.

=> Computational genome Analysis for characterizing genes, promoters and develop tools to facilitate these analyses
