Department of Prosthodontics

Prosthodontic Department is one of the major departments in dentistry. It has sub divisions like dental material, pre-clinical prosthodontics under graduate clinical department, where students treat all kinds of patients who are suffering from missing teeth or oral & maxillofacial structures. Student in this department gain the knowledge & skills on manipulation of various dental material used in the dentistry in the initial year of their course. They are trained with basics before they enter the clinical 3rd year of BDS course, They are then trained about the various treatment procedure on the patients such as complete denture’s, RPD, FDP fabrication and also maxillo- facial prosthetic replacement.

The department is located on the first floor and which is widely spread in the entire floor which consists of pre- clinical laboratory with 120 students capacity. The laboratory has gas connection & burners attached to each task for individual students.

The clinical department is equipped with 40 modern dental chairs with all the attachments. The clinics are very well positioned with a good light & air ration and has a separate sterilization area with good sterilizers, & autoclave for infection control protocol. Department has got separate UG. Lab which is spacious and well equipped, where student can work comfortably. In addition we have a classical ceramic lab with all the latest equipment to carryout the advanced dental treatment for flexible denture fabrication which is one of its kind.
