About Department of Pharmaceutics

Background, academic mission, and departmental profile

Three well-equipped laboratories are there to perform Practicals of various subjects like Dispensing Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical technology, physical pharmaceutics, Drug technology & cosmetics, pharmaceutical Engineering & Unit Operation. These laboratories are equipped with special equipments for the experiment models of pharmaceutical industries. The students are also trained to study, formulate, label and dispense medications in specified dosage forms.

A spacious well-designed 7 well-equipped industrial pharmacy lab has been established having bulk density apparatus, hardness (Pfizer & monsento) tester, Roche Friabilator, Disintegrating Test Apparatus and clarity test apparatus.These equipments are utilized to perform Quality Control tests of various Pharmaceutical formulations.

A Tablet & Capsule Manufacturing unit has been set up for smooth running of Practicals. The Machine Room consists of equipments like Horizontal main drive, double cone blender & various types of mills like colloidal mill, multi mill, miniball mill etc. The lab also consists of two tablet punching machines, one capsule filling machine, tablet coating, bulk density apparatus etc.
