Department of Women Education

The Department of Women Education was started in the year 2005-06. Since then it has been involved in teaching, research and empirical work. The Department provides 2-Year M.A course, 1-year M.Phill and Ph.D (till 5years) in Women Studies. A number of successful M.Phils have been awarded under the guidance of the experienced teachers

The Department is also extensively involved in field activities, Gender sensitization and awareness programmes that includes Political, social, economical, legal etc. through extension lectures by Eminent speakers. Various programmes have been organized in order to provide opportunity to women from all walks of life to participate in counselling and discussions pertaining to women issues. One of its unique programmes, it has provided a platform to Women (small scale) entrepreneurs and Housewives to showcase their handicrafts/hand-made works in university ambience that has helped them to communicate with students and teacher community and shed their hesitation. It always tries to get involved practically with the most talked about women issues and help to take steps to provide them awareness and empowerment and bring the vulnerable group into the main stream.
