Background, academic mission, and departmental profile
The Department of Social Work was established in 2006. The department offers a two year programme at Masters Level to prepare students to work as professional social workers in different fields of social work. As part of the programme students are placed for field work in different welfare organizations in the city for two days a week. At the end of the two years the students work as trainees in different organizations for their block placement for eight weeks to become eligible for the degree. The department also makes efforts to find them employment in different organizations.
