Department of History

Department of History was started in 2014. At present, the department offers a BA programme in History. Master's programme in History is starting in the academic session 2015-16.

The syllabi has been framed keeping in view the national interests, country’s ethos, employability of students and objective of the University to promote women’s development and other sections of the marginalized communities. Its aim, in particular, is to nurture the spirit of national integration and multiculturalism within the globally-set standards of quality teaching and research.

In the coming days, the Department would be starting M.Phil., and Ph.D., programmes besides Diplomas in Tourism Management, Museology, Archival Management and courses allied to the industrial development, cultural diplomacy and policy planning of the Government of India.

Under-graduate and Master’s in History

Eligibility for Under-Graduate:
10+2 with 40%marks in the qualifying examination

Eligibility for Masters:
Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate. The candidate/s should have Urdu as a language at 10 or 10+2 or graduation levels. Certificate holders in Urdu from any recognised University or institution are also eligible. However, they necessarily need to demonstrate their knowledge of Urdu (writing, reading and comprehension) before their formal admission/s.
