The Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Urdu was come into existence in the year Dec. 1993. Teaching and Research work is the main objective of this Department. So far Seven (07) Ph.D.Degrees are awarded 11 more Research Scholars are engaged themselves in Ph.D. work. Two FIP Candidates already awarded Ph.D. Degrees, one JRF Candidate is working in the Department. Sixteen (16) Research Books were published written by Faculty members
We are conducting coaching classes for the students of UGC, UPSC and KPSC competitive examinations, providing guidelines to Distance Education Students and conducting Orientation Course for them. 17 students of our Department have already passed NET and SLET examination, and Four candidates have passed KPSC examinations. We have established our own departmental library having more then one thousand books. We have installed Four Gold Medals: one for higher marks secured in M.A Previous, one for Persion, One for Arabic and one for over all percentage of both M.A Previous and Final.
We are planning to introduce Dr. Iqbal Chair and Endowment Scholarship for the poor Students of our Department.
