Kakatiya University, Warangal Department of Geology Established in 1989, the department offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. Programmes and is very well-equipped with research facilities like field survey equipment, geological collections and museum, resistivity meters, fluoride meter, sieve shakers, or microscope, spectrophotmeter, flame photometer, etc. The thrust areas of research are Petrology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Geology, economic geology and remote sensing and geographical information system. It has a well equipped computer laboratory with GIS software. The Department was strengthened with the addition of the M.Sc. (Geology) course offered at the University P.G.College, Kothagudem. The faculty members have been carrying out research completed a few having already . The academic interests and the research work of the faculty are encouraging.
