The Under Graduate (UG) program of Information Technology was started in the year 1999 and Post Graduate (PG) program of Information Technology was started in June 2010. It has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members specialized in various areas like Ad hoc Networks, Grid Computing, Data Mining and Software Engineering.

Events :

=> Dr.Latha Tamilselvan, Prof.&Head/IT, organized a seminar on Robotics Demonstration by Mr. Kedar Kulkarni, CEO, LEMA LABS for II Yr and III Yr students on 2/01/13.
=> “IBM Rational Rose Training (SEED Programme)” conducted by Department of Information Technology, BSAU during 16.07.13 to 20.07.13.Ten of our Faculty members participated and attended the training programme. => Representative from IBM faculty academy, IBM certified trainer delivered hands on and demo sessions for 5 days.
Recently our department organized guest lecture on “Personal Transformation” for students of IT department by Dr. Arasu Chellaiah, Adjunct Associate Professor, University of Maryland,(Baltimore) on 26th July 2013.
Seminar on “Cyber Security Threats” by Ankit Fadia (Recorded sessions) for students of IT department conducted by IndiaCan Pvt Ltd, Pearson Company on 29th July 2013.
=> Inauguration of Society of Information Technology was held on 6th August 2013, Mr.Krishnakumar Narayanan, Co- Founder & COO at cloudenablers, heads Delivery and operations and also Mr.Venkatesh Perumal ,VP – Business Development at cloudenablers, ingaurated the programme and delivered key note address on “Introduction to Cloud Computing”
=> Two day National Level Workshop on “Open Source Cloud Computing Platforms” was organized during 18th and 19th September 2013.More than 20 Faculty members and 18 P.G. students and research scholars participated in the workshop. The speakers for the workshop are from College of Engineering, Anna university and reputed MNC’s like Cognizant , Data Technics, Chennai.
=> ICON 2k13 was held on 1st October 2013, and Chief guest Mr. M.D. Krishnakumar, Team Leader(System Analyst), Accenture Services delivered a Keynote address on “Recent trends in IT ”.
=> One day workshop on "IBM Worklight - Android Application Development" on 1st Feb 2014, jointly organized by BSAU Apple iOS Application Development Centre and Faculty Training Academy in collaboration with ICT Academy of Tamilnadu and IBM- 39 participants.
=> Seminar on Cyber security and Career Opportunity in Information Security conducted on 18th march 2014 - 80 participants.
