Located in The concrete garden “Odaiyappa College of Engineering & Technolgy” is located in the middle of Cumbum Valley land, 4 Kms. away from Theni town., The Magnificent institution is housed in a sprawling campus of 27.58 acres with a built up area of 82,000 square feet. The college was given permission by Govrnment of Tamilnadu as per letter No.6181/J1/ 98 dt 25.03.1998 and affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University on 6.10.1999 and then with Anna University as per letter no. CEP/Affi/ OCET/2001-02 dt 14.08.2002 with three branches in Engineering after approval from All India Council for Technical Education on 23.9.1999 (Lr.F.No.732 -52-161/Et/97). They gain knowledge through Industrial Visits, Paper Presentation, Seminars etc.Vision of the Promoting Body, The existing agriculture belt is to be developed as an industrial belt. Promoters are pioneers in Engineering Education in Theni and rural areas to provide a ray of hope for the downtrodden society. A vision to grow, expand and live up to the expectation of Science and Technology of the future. So far 455 Engineering Graduates have come out from Odaiyappa College of Engineering & Technology Theni from the disciplines of CSE, ECE and EEE. Additional Courses in the disciplines of Bio medical Engineering Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering are proposed. Vision of the promoters to produce Medical Graduates will also materialize shortly., Number of students passing out of Higher Secondary Schools in rural areas like Theni District are in the order of tens of thousands in each district. To this extent, facilities for higher education and professional education are not available in rural areas. To mitigate this hardship the trust has undertaken the establishment of facilities for professional education in rural and remote areas. But for this, many rural students would be deprived of the opportunity for higher education. Vision of the promoting body, is to develop worthy citizens by improving their standards. With these visions, several educational institutions including this Odaiyappa College of Engineering& Technology in Theni and Odaiyappa Medical College in Walayar, Kerala have been started.Odaiyappa College of Engineering and Technology (OCET), which is reputed for its academic excellence, highly qualified and experienced faculty, and state-of- the-art infrastructure, is one of the most sought after Engineering Colleges in the state., The Departments and various Centers/Cells at OCET deal with the academic activities such as Teaching, Research and Placement etc. The courses of Study have been chalked out as Semester Programs and students are evaluated throughout the semester on a continuous basis. As we are affiliated to the Anna University, we follow the syllabus framed by it. The courses are conducted with English as the medium of instruction. As part of its Under Graduate Program, OCET offers B.E. Degree Courses in the disciplines of Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering. We also offer a B.Tech Degree Course in Information Technology. All these degrees are available in the regular stream. In addition, we also offer Special Courses for the students including various Computer Languages. At OCET, equal importance is given to both the theoretical and practical aspects of learning. At our well-equipped labs attached to every department, students get a hands-on experience on all that they learn in their classrooms.
