SVCE is a constituent unit of the Sri Venkateswara Educational and Health Trust (SVEHT) which was founded in 1984. It is presently affiliated to Anna University, though at its initiation it was affiliated to the Madras University. It follows the course structure designed by Anna University. The aim of the institute is to provide quality educational and research facilities in the areas of engineering and allied sciences. It also aims to promote the entrepreneurship spirit among its students and strives to achieve academic excellence.
