Department Of Physics

The department began its journey with fifteen students from Purulia and adjacent districts. At present, two semesters are being run parallely with a total of forty students. Although we started our journey with very limited resources, the department now has adequate infrastructure including library, instruments and computer laboratories for successfully carrying out the post graduate course including the MSc project.

The faculty members are currently involved in teaching along with research in their respective specializations including electronics, nuclear physics, astrophysics, optics and condensed matter physics. These subjects are also being offered as elective and advanced papers. Our faculty members carry out the MSc projects in a multitude of topics covering the various applications of physics in our society.
