Department of Bengali

The Department of Bengali, Sidho-Kanho–Birsha University, Purulia, started its journey in the session 2011-2012. It is one of the departments that the University started functioning with. At present, six permanent faculties enlighten the department with the aim of pertaining higher education and develop research aptitudes among the students.

The department of Bengali of SKB University wants to make sure that its students may have the best possible educational experience. The Department aims at fostering the latent aesthetic and critical capabilities of students for proper appreciation of the fullest import of language and literature on the individual and society. Further, it seeks to provide research facilities to scholars interested in undertaking advanced researches on the subject.
