About Department of Home Science
Background, academic mission, and departmental profile
The department of Home Science was established in 1987 with only one branch, viz, Foods & Nutrition with an intake capacity of 10 students. In 1991, another branch, namely, General Home Science was started with the intake capacity of 10 students. Currently the intake capacity for both the branches combined is 35 regular ones with 20 self finance seats and 2 single girl child seats every year. The course duration of Masters in Home Science is for two years. The department has a good infrastructural facility with its separate building constructed with the
generous donations of renowned philanthropist Dr. Dipchand Gardi and by partial grant of the UGC.
