Department of Physical Education

The Department of Physical Education was started in the year of 1963 with M.A in Physical Education. The department has emerged as one of the premier centre of Physical Education in India. It has acquired a prominent status in the country and has earned several distinctions during its existence. The Department offers B.P.Ed. (One Year), M.P.Ed. (Two Years), M.Phil., Doctoral and Post Doctoral (D. Lit.) programmes and has highly qualified faculty.

=> M.Phil in Physical Education - 1 years (Semester system), Seats - 10
=> Masters in Physical Education - 2 years (Semester system), Seats - 36

Eligibility For Bachelor in Physical Education (BPEd) :

=> 1. A Bachelor's or Post Graduate Degree in any discipline of Panjab University obtaining not less than 45% marks.2. A Bachelor's or Post Graduate Degree in any discipline of another University recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent to (1) above obtaining not less than 45% marksProvided the candidate admitted under any of the clauses (1) to (2) qualifies in the Standard Physical Efficiency Test and must have participated in atleast one game/sports at inter-college level.

Eligibility For M.Phil in Physical Education :

=> Master's Degree in Physical Education with 50% marks+ Entrance Test conducted by Panjab University

Eligibility For Masters in Physical Education (BPEd) :

=> 1. Degree of Bachelor of Physical Education of Panjab University obtaining not less than 45% marks.2. Bachelor's Degree of Physical Education (after Graduation) /Post Graduate Diploma in Physical Education of another University recognized by Panjab University obtaining not less than 45% marks3. Bachelor of Physical Education(three years/four years Degree after 10+2) of any other university recognized by Panjab University obtaining not less than 45% marks4. Any other qualification recognized by the syndicate as equivalent to (1), (2), and (3). Provided the candidate admitted under any of the clauses (1) to (4) qualifies in the Standard Physical Efficiency Test
