List of facilities available at National Institute of Technology, Nagaland for students.
The Central Library of NIT Nagaland, which is one of the important central facilities of the Institute, supports teaching, learning, research and creative endeavors of the Institute. The Central Library provides modern collection of knowledge resources and innovative information through acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge resources and also provides on - demand access to the available intellectual resources and research products to NIT Nagaland faculty and students, as well as to the greater community of learners beyond NIT Nagaland with the support of value added services to the users.
Presently the Central Library has a collection of more than 7,200 books in the area of Engineering, Technology, Basic Sciences, Management, Economics, Social Sciences and Humanities including text books, reference books etc. The Central Library also having 1400+ of e-books on Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Civil, Mechanical & Computer Science and other non-book materials such as NPTEL videos, CDs/CD-ROMs, etc. The library also has latest collections of periodicals, magazines and newspapers. The services and operations in the Central Library are fully computerized using Integrated Library Management Software with OPAC and RFID Technology. RFID tagging of entire collections are up to date.
The Institute is equipped with sufficient sports facilities for several indoor and outdoor games. Indoor games include Badminton, Table-Tennis, Carom and Chess and outdoor games include cricket, football. In addition works for new football and cricket stadium are currently under process and expected to be ready within a short period of time. Process has already been initiated to procure Multi-gym facilities.
The Sports equipments / kits are issued to the students for practice sessions and during tournaments. Inter-Branch Tournaments are conducted in various games annually i.e. Chess, Football, Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Kabbadi. Sports facilities for indoor games are also provided in the Boys and Girls Hostels.
30 Students of NIT Nagaland participated in sports events such as Cricket, Kabbadi, and Athletes at ALL NIT Sports meet -2014 held at NIT Tirichy from 9-12 February 2014.

NIT Nagaland houses six (6) Hostels home away from home . At present there are four (4) sixty four seated boy s hostels, one (1) fifty six seated girls hostel and a brand new thirty two (32) seated PG boys hostel inside NIT Nagaland campus.
Named after mountains of significance in the locality, the hostels are -
Saramati A, B, C. Presently occupied by the 4th year students.
Japfu - Occupied by the 2nd & 3rd year students.
Tiyi - Also occupied by 2nd & 3rd year students.
Patkai A, B, C - Exclusively meant for the 1st year students.
Dzukou- Ladies Hostel (Both UG and PG).
Zanibu - PG Mens Hostel.
Saramati is the highest peak in Nagaland. Saramati hill range is also the biggest in the mountain range of Nagaland situated on the extreme south east of the state.
Japfu Peak is the second highest peak in Nagaland, located about 15 km south of Kohima.
The Patkai Mountain range also known as Purvanchal Range, one of the eight mountain ranges in India and the major of India's North Eastern states.
The Dzukou Valley is a valley located at the border of the Indian states of Manipur and Nagaland. The rare Dzukou Lily is found only in this valley.
Zanibu is a mountain range, which is an extension of Patkai range, the longest mountain range in Nagaland.
Altogether there are about 172 well furnished rooms across 6 hostels (and some under construction). NIT Nagaland also provides very wholesome messing facility (Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian) for all students and few faculties and staff.
The Institute has a medical centre with Doctors visitation on rotation and facilities in line of a District Primary Health Centre.

The Institute has a satellite branch of State Bank of India (SBI) Chumukedima with ATM facilities to cater to the banking needs of students, faculty and staff.
