Seth G.S. Medical College (Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College) is the twelfth medical college to be established in India. The college was established on June 1, 1925 with an intake of 46 students, out of which six were women. Seth G.S. Medical College was formally opened in 1926 and it was affiliated to the University of Bombay.

Presently, Seth G.S. Medical College is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. Seth G.S. Medical College is attached to the King Edward Memorial Hospital, which too was started in the year 1926. The institute offers medical education at different degree levels. The main priorities of the college are medical relief, medical education and research.

Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College (Seth GS Medical College), under the King Edward hospital provides training to about 2000 students in undergraduate, postgraduate and superspeciality medical courses in physical therapy and occupational therapy, Master’s and PhD courses in various allied specialties. A nursing school is also maintained by this institution. With about 390 staff physicians and 550 resident doctors, the 1800 bedded hospital treats about 1.8 million out-patients and 78,000 in-patients annually and provides both basic care and advanced treatment facilities in all fields of medicine and surgery.

The medical college (school) provides training to about 2000 students in undergraduate, postgraduate and superspeciality medical courses; in undergraduate and postgraduate physical and occupational therapy; Masters and PhD courses in various allied specialties.
