Government Polytechnic College, Nagercoil is one of the two polytechnics founded in 1959 under the second five year plan. It was initially functioning in the S.T. Hindu College Premises with 120 students. At that time, we had three branches civil Engineering mechanical engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Then, it was shifted to the present campus spreading over 20 hectares in September 1963. The technical High school was then part of our institution till the year 1986.

EIT Polytechnic College, Kavindapadi formerly known as Erode Institute of Technology, a highly commendable Govt. Aided institute, occupies a place of pride amongst the premier technical institutes of the southern region of Tamilnadu. Established in the year 1980, financed and run by The Mudaliar Educational Trust, Erode with Government Aid.

The Cheyyar Polytechnic College was established in 1996 as a charitable institution with a prime ambition of affording opportunities to young men and women for equipping themselves to get employed and contribute to the technological development of the nation. The college is growing day by day and emerging as one of the ranking polytechnic institutions in Tamilnadu.

Established in the year 1958, the Central Polytechnic College, Thiruvananthapuram started functioning in a building in the campus of the School of Arts. At first it offered three year diploma courses in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Having constructed its own building in the year 1967, the college shifted to Vattiyoorkavu in the outskirts of the city.

CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College is one of the institutions run by V. Rangaswamy Naidu Educational Trust founded in 1955 by Late.Sri. V. Rangaswamy Naidu for the promotion of Technical Education and Industrial Training in Tamil Nadu. The Polytechnic was started in the year 1961 and is located near Coimbatore Civil Aerodrome on the outskirts of Coimbatore on the Avinashi Road. The campus area is 25.30 hectares (both C.I.T. & C.I.T. Sandwich Polytechnic College).

This Polytechnic was started at Ettayapuram to commemorate the birth centenary of Mahakavi Bharathiyar at his birth place. It commenced functioning from 6th October, 1982 temporarily in the premises of Ettayapuram Maharaja’s Annadhana Chatram. Bhaktavatsalam, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu as a token of his selfless service to our country and Tamil Nadu in particular.

Welcome Home! The Polytechnic is located at Konampatti on the Sivakasi-Sattur Road about 8 Km from Sivakasi Town and 9 Km from Sattur Town. It was sponsored by the Janakiammal Ayyanadar Trust, Sivakasi which is a public Charitable Trust. Now, it is being run by Ayyanadar Janakiammal Technical Education Committee, Sivakasi. The Polytechnic campus is 64.38 acres in extent and is provided with all modern amenities.
