Gauhati Commerce College, situated at the northern most end of RG Barooah Road, Chandmari, Guwahati-781021 is one of the most promising institutions of the state of Assam and also of the entire north-east India imparting business education at Higher Secondary, Degree and Post Graduate levels. The college was founded on 10th September in the year 1962.

Dimoria College a pioneer Institution of higher education, is located about 30 kms to the east of Guwahati city on NH 37. Established in 1979, Dimoria College has completed twenty six glorious years. Offering a large number of subjects in both Arts and Science stream in the Under Graduate as well as Post Graduate Level, Dimoria College Khetri has been able to attract students from the entire north eastern region as well as from the neighbouring country.

The D.K.Girls' College was established in 1988 to cater the need of the people of entire area of Dakshin Kamrup. In this greater area from Goalpara in the west, to Guwahati in the East, there was neither a college nor any other institution for higher studies till the establishment of Dakshin Kamrup college in 1961. It was felt that nothing substantial had been done for the progress and development of the women communities in this area so far.

The Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology GUIST was set up at the university campus in 2009 to enhance quality and innovation in Technology and Applied Science education.
