CSIR UGC NET Result 2026: Scorecard Download, Merit List & Fellowship Award

The CSIR UGC NET Result is declared online by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at csirnet.nta.ac.in. Results are released in two stages: first, individual NTA Scorecards showing raw and normalized percentile scores; second, the comprehensive Merit List of qualified candidates published by CSIR-HRDG.

Steps to Check CSIR UGC NET Result & Download Scorecard

  1. Log on to csirnet.nta.ac.in
  2. Click on the link 'Joint CSIR-UGC NET Scorecard'.
  3. Provide your Application Number, Date of Birth, and Security Code.
  4. Your scorecard showing part-wise marks, total score, and eligibility status will be displayed.
  5. Save and take a printout of the scorecard for certificate verification and Ph.D. admissions.

Three Qualifying Categories in Result

As per the latest UGC & CSIR framework, candidates qualify under one of three categories:

  • Category 1: Qualified for JRF and Assistant Professorship (Award of fellowship and eligible for faculty positions).
  • Category 2: Qualified for Assistant Professorship and admission to Ph.D. (No JRF fellowship).
  • Category 3: Qualified for admission to Ph.D. only (Valid for Ph.D. admissions for 1 year; NET score given 70% weightage in Ph.D. interviews).

Validity of JRF & Assistant Professor Status

  • JRF Fellowship Validity: The Junior Research Fellowship award letter is valid for 2 years from the date of declaration of result to join a Ph.D. program.
  • Assistant Professor Eligibility: The eligibility for Lectureship / Assistant Professor is valid for a lifetime.
