The JoSAA 2026 Result (Seat Allotment) is released in multiple rounds starting from the last week of June 2026. Because JoSAA is a counselling process rather than a single exam, there isn’t one “result day”—instead, you get a seat allotment result for each of the 6 scheduled rounds.
The counselling result indicates the status of admission for B.Tech, 5-year dual degree B.Tech-M.Tech, 5-year integrated MSc, and B.Arch programs in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. If you have been allotted a seat, congratulations! Proceed to complete the admission formalities as per JoSAA guidelines.
However, if you were not successful in securing a seat, you can consider participating in the next round of JoSAA, if available.

🚦 What to Do After the Result?
Once you are allotted a seat, you must choose one of the following three options, or you will be kicked out of the entire counselling process:
- Freeze: You are happy with the seat and want to secure it. You will not participate in further rounds.
- Float: You accept the seat but want to wait for a better college or branch in higher-preference choices in the next rounds.
- Slide: You accept the seat but want to wait for a better branch within the same college.
⚠️ Mandatory Step: If you get a seat for the first time in any round, you must pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (approx. ₹35,000 for General/OBC and ₹17,500 for SC/ST/PwD) and upload your documents for online verification. Failure to do this results in the cancellation of your seat.
