💡 Pro-Tips for Solving Papers

  • The 60-Minute Clock: In 2026, you have exactly 60 minutes per subject. When solving a previous year paper, set a timer. Speed is often more of a challenge than the questions themselves.
  • Identify Tricky Questions: Previous papers show that NTA loves “Assertion-Reasoning” and “Match the Column” type questions. Use these to practice your elimination techniques.
  • Negative Marking Calculation: Always score your practice sessions using the +5 / -1 (UG) or +4 / -1 (PG) formula to get a realistic sense of your standing.

The “IndCareer Edge”: High-Yield Topic Analysis (2026)

Based on an analysis of the last four cycles (2022–2025), certain chapters dominate the CUET question papers. Prioritize these “Must-Solve” areas:

  • Mathematics: Focus heavily on Calculus (Integration/Differentiation) and Probability. These usually account for 35% of Section II.
  • Science (Biology/Physics): NTA sticks strictly to NCERT Class 12. Solve the “Exemplar” questions, as they are frequently replicated in CUET papers.
  • General Test: The “Current Affairs” segment focuses on the last 6 months (Nov 2025 – April 2026). Static GK is leaning more toward Indian Heritage and Sports.

Expert Teacher Tip: “Many students waste time on Class 11 syllabus. CUET 2026 is strictly based on the Class 12 NCERT curriculum. Use your question papers to identify if you are over-studying non-relevant topics.”

Common Mistakes to Avoid while Solving Papers

  1. Ignoring the Negative Marking: Since -1 is deducted for wrong answers, guessing in the General Test (Section III) can significantly drop your percentile.
  2. Poor Subject Mapping: Ensure the domain subjects you solve match the eligibility criteria of your target university (e.g., DU vs. BHU).
  3. Overlooking Language Passages: In Section IA, the focus has shifted from pure grammar to Reading Comprehension (RC). Practice at least 3 RCs daily.
