The NTA has released the exam pattern for the Common University Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or CUET UG. Understanding the examination scheme is crucial as it provides information about the test’s sections, the number of questions, the recommended number of attempts, and the marking scheme for CUET. It’s essential to be familiar with these details before appearing for the examination.

CUET Exam Pattern
By knowing the CUET exam pattern, you can better prepare and perform confidently on the test day.
The details of the CUET exam pattern are detailed below.

Note:
- From the above subjects/languages, the candidate can choose a maximum of 10 subjects from all three Sections.
- The examination will be conducted on multiple days in three shifts, depending on the number of Candidates and Subject choices
Mode of Examination
CUET (UG) will completely be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
Medium of Examination
Medium of the Question Papers: Drawing from the National Education Policy (NEP), the CUET (UG)- 2023 will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

The option of language for Question Paper should be exercised while filling up the Application Form online and it cannot be changed at a later stage.
Please note that for the correctness of the questions in all the question papers, the English version will be taken as the final.

There are three shifts in a day. A candidate can choose upto 10 Subjects for giving the Exam.

Duration of Test
Examination will be conducted on multiple days in three slots per day.
Note: Compensatory time for PwBD Candidates of 20 minutes for each hour examination will be given.

Section-Wise Breakdown:
- Section IA & IB (Languages): Tests reading comprehension, literary aptitude, and vocabulary.
- Section II (Domain-Specific): Based strictly on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. There are 23 domain subjects available.
- Section III (General Test): Covers GK, Current Affairs, Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, and Logical Reasoning.
