The Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test (AP EDCET) is a state-level Education entrance exam organized by Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur for admission to B.Ed, B.Ed Spl. courses in University, Government, Aided, and Private Colleges of Education.

AP EDCET Syllabus
To secure a seat in the top B.Ed. colleges of Andhra Pradesh, understanding the AP EdCET Syllabus 2026 is the first step toward success. The exam, scheduled for May 4, 2026, follows a specific structure designed to test both your general aptitude and your command over your chosen graduation subject. The syllabus is divided into three distinct parts, with Part A and Part B being common for all candidates, while Part C is subject-specific.

AP EDCET Section-Wise Syllabus
The section-wise AP EDCET syllabus has been listed below according to each section that the candidates will be tested on.
Part A: General English Syllabus
This section evaluates the candidate’s proficiency in the English language. Questions are generally of the 10+2 (Intermediate) level.
- Reading Comprehension: Understanding and interpreting passages.
- Grammar: Articles, Prepositions, Tenses, and Spelling.
- Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, and Idioms.
- Sentence Structure: Correction of sentences, Voices (Active/Passive), and Direct/Indirect Speech.
- Transformation: Simple, Compound, and Complex sentences.
Part B: General Knowledge & Teaching Aptitude
1. General Knowledge (15 Marks)
The GK section focuses on awareness of the environment and current events.
- India and Neighboring Countries: History, Culture, Geography, and Ecology.
- Economics: Basic Indian Economy and Economic Development.
- General Policy: Constitution of India and Scientific Research.
2. Teaching Aptitude (10 Marks)
This part assesses the candidate’s innate ability to handle students and classroom scenarios.
- Communication Skills: Clarity and effectiveness of expression.
- Analytical Thinking: Problem-solving in a school environment.
- Child Psychology: Understanding individual differences in children.
Part C: Methodology Syllabus (Subject-Specific)
Candidates must choose one methodology based on their graduation degree. The syllabus for the first four subjects follows the Revised Common Core Degree Syllabus (Graduation Level) of AP Universities.
1. Mathematics (100 Marks)
- Algebra: Groups, Subgroups, Rings, and Vector Spaces.
- Real Analysis: Continuity, Differentiation, and Riemann Integration.
- Differential Equations: Higher-order linear equations.
2. Physical Sciences (100 Marks)
- Physics (50 Marks): Thermodynamics, Quantum Theory, Optics, and Electronics.
- Chemistry (50 Marks): p-block elements, Organic Chemistry (Alkanes, Alkenes, Benzene), and Spectroscopy.
3. Biological Sciences (100 Marks)
- Botany (50 Marks): Anatomy of Angiosperms, Plant Physiology, and Genetics.
- Zoology (50 Marks): Animal Diversity (Chordates/Non-Chordates), Immunology, and Evolution.
4. Social Studies (100 Marks)
- History (30 Marks): Ancient, Medieval, and Modern Indian History.
- Geography (35 Marks): Physical, Human, and Economic Geography of India.
- Civics (15 Marks): Indian Government, Politics, and Political Thought.
- Economics (20 Marks): Micro/Macro Analysis and Statistical Methods.
5. English (100 Marks)
- Special English: This section is for candidates who took Special English in B.A. It covers Literature, Literary Forms, and Advanced Grammar.

- Focus on Part C: Since 100 marks out of 150 come from your methodology, prioritize your graduation textbooks.
- No Negative Marking: Practice attempting all questions, as there is no penalty for wrong answers.
