Government Mayuradhwaj Mahadani Raja Postgraduate College, Champa is an educational institution registered under Act 2F & 12B of University Grants Commission and affiliated to Gurughasidas Central University, Bilaspur, which was established in 1972. The main objective of the college is to provide a suitable educational environment to them by catering to the requirements of higher education at the regional level.

At present there are 14 subjects available at the undergraduate level by the college, under the Faculty of Science - Plant Sciences, Zoology, Chemistry, Tussar Technology, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Similarly, Faculty of Arts Under - Faculty of Sociology, Hindi Literature, English Literature, History, Economics, Political Science and Commerce are available in various combinations. Similarly at the postgraduate level, college has chemistry, English literature, mathematics, social work, sociology, history, economics, political science. Various employment-oriented courses have been started in the college from the academic session 2000 under the public participation scheme. The college has created an image at the national level too with its high quality and environment conducive to teaching studies, which is also attracting students from different states.

The college has been awarded "B" grade in the academic session 2015-16 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore. Government Mayuradhwaj Mahadani Raja Postgraduate College Champa has introduced a new dimension to the goal of promotion and education, which has led to the college actively pursuing the AIDS Counseling and Training Center at the national level, in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.

Through the study center of IGNOU, 24 diverse undergraduate and postgraduate courses are being made available to students. BJMC course affiliated to Kushabhau Thakre Journalism and Public Communication University, Raipur .
