The department was created in the year 2000 and offers two compulsory courses and four advance elective courses to B.Sc. (Ag.) Hons. students. The Department also offers courses to a limited number of students leading to M. Sc. (Ag.) and Ph. D. Degrees. Besides, the researches on residues of pesticides have been impressive and earned national and international reputation. Doctoral research programmes includes studies on pesticide residues occuring in soil, plant, water, various food & environmental commodities, their degradation and detoxification from agro-ecological systems by physical, chemical and biological means. The Department also conducts research studies on Medicinal and Aromatic plants.
