Department of Bioelectronics and Biosensors

Alagappa University has established the Department of Bioelectronics and Biosensors in the year 2008. The Department offers M.Sc., M.Phil. & Ph.D. programmes in the interdisciplinary field of bioelectronics and biosensors. These innovative programmes cover many leading disciplines such as physico-chemistry, electronics, biomedical, nano-biomaterials, bioinformatics, biosensors etc. The Department is engaged in the design and development of biosensors and bioelectronics devices for applications in the fields of medicine, environment, food, and defense. The Department also serves as a consultancy for professionals from industry, research and clinical fields for developing novel diagnostic devices for various applications. The main objective of the Department is to train students for career in the field of bioelectronics and biosensors with advanced subject knowledge, communication skill and commitment to work for the sustainable development of human society.

Facilities :

The department has separate lab facilities for teaching (M. Sc.,) and research programmes. The research lab is being equipped with the state of the art instruments. The Lecture halls of M. Sc., Students are provided with OHP, LCD & Computers to make presentations more interactive. Besides that the computers in the department are connected with LAN and provided with regular internet connectivity to make students and staff updated with recent innovations.
