The department of Journalism and Mass Communication was established in 1945 by Pt. Kamalapati Tripathi (Ex. ChiefMinister,U.P., Ex Minister Jahajrani, Govt. of India, Ex. Railway Minister, Working president of All India Congress Committee and a great journalist). But due to some reason the department become closed. After 38 years, department of Journalism restarted on Gandhi Jayanti- 2nd October 1983. At present time the department of Journalism and Mass Communication is running various under graduate, post graduate and research level regular programmes.
