      About Triveni Debi Bhalotia College, Burdwan

      Triveni Devi Bhalotia College, Raniganj was established in 1957 has been now the second biggest college of the state imparting higher education in twenty honors courses including Computer Science and one vocational course in Sericulture and the general courses almost in all subject of Arts, Science and Commerce streams. The college is government sponsored and is affiliated to University of Burdwan. The college has well educated and competent faculty members.

      Available College Facilities & Amenities

      List of facilities available at Triveni Debi Bhalotia College, Burdwan for students.

      Any teaching learning process that goes on in the classroom cannot reach the required standard without the support of a well equipped library. Our college is proud to possess an enriched library that aids our students and teachers alike. The college is working to give the students the facility of computerized catalogue to find books and also to provide internet facility for students and teachers.

      The central Library has approximate 67,000 titles with particularly rich and rare collections of books of all subjects including some priceless Sanskrits scriptures.

      Both the Central and Seminar libraries provide lending service, reading room service and reference service for students and teachers.

      Along with books, the library purchases and subscribes a good number of periodicals of both popular and specialized content as also newspaper in English, Bengali, Hindi and Urdu.
      We provide fully equipped science Laboratories for both General and Honours students. Separate computer labs for Science and Commerce Students are a recent addition. The photograph on the right is showing students attending Computer Lab.
      There are three playgrounds within the college premises. The main playground is located in front of the main building. A small courtyard with a badminton court is situated in between the Arts and Science building. A subsidiary play ground with a volleyball courts is situated in front of the hostel.
      Good transportation facilities for its students, staff members and visiting guests.
      Boys Hostel of the College is located at the north eastern corner of the campus. It is a two storied building providing accommodation to about 100 honours students. Accommodation at the hostel is given under some strict rules formulated by the college authority.
      Govt. Scholarships Stipends for SC/ ST students and National Scholarships for the meritorious students are sanctioned by the Govt.
      The Medical Unit of the College is close to the main gate. Some renowned doctors visit the college regularly and are also available on call. Health checkups of the students can also be done through Students' Health Home, Raniganj Unit.
      Career Counseling Cell (UGC Funding) of the College arranged a coupls of seminars related to career options in different field of studies. Departments for which CC seminar has been held are : English, Hindi, Geology, Geography, Political Science, Bengali, Philosophy, Mathematics, Commerce, Electronics, Physics, Botany, Zoology & Physiology.

      A subsidised canteen, located near the main gate of the college, caters to the need of both the students and staff, providing hygienic food and UV filtered water. The quality of the food is monitored by a committee.
      The T.D.B. College computer centre functions in collaboration with The Institute of Computer Engineers (India) or I.C.E. (I) a part of TECHNO INDIA GROUP, KOLKATA. The accredited 'A' level course is sanctioned by the Department of Electronics, Govt. of India & All India Council of Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.)
      Within the campus, there is an open air stage named Binoy Chaudhury Mancha which is used during the Annual Social as well as various cultural activities organized by Students and Staff.
      A branch of the Syndicate Bank of India is running within the college premises since 2000 for the benenfit of students, teachers and non teaching staff of the college, it has CBS facilities.
      The college boasts of two separate Common Rooms for boy's and girls; which provide indoor game facilities. It is also the centre of various cultural activities. The activities of the common room are controlled and monitored jointly by the teachers and the Students union.
      A safe place to dock your cycle and two wheeler is situated beside the main entrance of the college. The stand is constantly watched by security guards.
